Small Computer Lab and Training Room Furniture Layouts

NOTE: Generally, for a 30" deep computer desk,allow 72" per row - 12" for the keyboard tray and 30" for the chair and space to pass behind it. Footprint may be reduced by as much as 6" but is not recommended.

1. Design #425-A. Small Multi-use Classroom (25' x 17')
  • 12-36"w stations in three rows, 60" side aisle
    (or 6-72"w double desks)
  • 1-72"w instructor's station
  • 1-30"w printer/storage cabinet
  • 13 computer task chairs with arm rests
  • Recommended Series (monitor configuration):
    • FI flipIT® LCD (shown)
    • SR Semi-Recessed CRT
    • FP Semi-Recessed LCD
    • SS Sub-Surface CRT
    • SF SnapFlex™
      (6-78"w double, 48" side aisle)

*NOTE: Substituting 6-66" wide (33" per station) FP, SR or SS double desks (not available in flipIT series) will add three 36"w stations and maintain a 36" wide aisle.
2. Design #425-B. Small Multi-use Classroom (25' x 17')

    (or 6-72"w double desks)

3. Design #450-A. Small Multi-use Classroom (25' x 18')
  • 15-36"w stations in three rows with 36" center aisle
    (or 6-72"w double desks)

  • 1-36"w printer/storage cabinet
  • 16 computer task chairs with arm rests
  • Recommended Series (monitor configuration):

NOTE: This space also permits the use of 88" wide double desks with 40" wide center aisle. Much more comfortable for adult students.
4. Design #450-B. Small Multi-use Classroom (25' x 18')
  • 12-44"w stations in three rows with 40" center aisle
    (or 6-72"w double desks)
  • 1-72"w instructor's station
  • 1-30"w printer/storage cabinet
  • 13 computer task chairs with arm rests
  • Recommended Series (monitor configuration):

NOTE:More efficient use of space incorporates
desks arranged in back-to-back configuration.
5. Design #425-C. Small Multi-use Computer Lab (25' x 17')

    (or 2-36"w single desk + 6-72"w double desks)
  • 1-60"w instructor's station
  • 1-30"w printer/storage cabinet

NOTE:The main advantage of a perimeter layout is that it permits the instructor to view each student's monitor. This isn't possible with sub-surface monitors.
